Lawrence Zeegen - Biog
Lawrence Zeegen is an illustrator,
educator, writer and artists' agent.
Illustrating since graduating from the Royal College of Art in
1989, Zeegen's clients include major international newspapers
and magazines, book publishers, design companies and advertising
agencies. During the 1990s Zeegen was involved in establishing
a number of illustration studios in London and in setting up one
of the UKs truly contemporary illustration agencies.
As Academic Programme Leader for Communication and Media Arts
at the University of Brighton, UK, Zeegen leads undergraduate
and postgraduate courses in Illustration and Graphic Design. He
has lectured internationally and spoken at conferences around
the world.
Zeegen has contributed regularly to publications - Computer Arts
and Digital Creative Arts and has written for Creative Review,
MacFormat and The Association of Illustrators (AOI) Journal. Zeegen
has written about contemporary illustration for books that include
AOI Images 28, and Clin D'Oeil. Zeegen's own books; Digital Illustration
– A Master Class in Creative Image Making [Rotovision] and The
Fundamentals of Illustration [AVA] have been published in 2005.
Zeegen has been a Council Member of the AOI and on award jury
panels for the AOI and D&AD, British Design and Art Direction.
Zeegen has recently formed a partnership with Helen Rush, an experienced
agent, to establish ZeegenRush. A directional, global, creative,
visual agency, ZeegenRush represents the best of today's contemporary
illustrators and image-makers, employing methods of representation
that embrace the digital demands of the 21st century.
